On Saturday December 15, 2023, at approximately 6:50 p.m. the Hogansville Police Department and Troup County 911 received calls for a structure fire within the City.

Officers and fire personnel arrived on scene within minutes to find a well involved structure fire, according to information from the Hogansville Police Department. During suppression efforts, an unidentified male was found deceased in the residence. HPD said it is still an active scene being investigated by the Hogansville Police Department, Troup County Fire, Troup County Coroner and the State Fire Marshals Office.
