A region back-to-back was no problem for the Callaway girls basketball as they thumped Eagle’s Landing 86-34 on Saturday after blowing out Elite Scholars Academy the previous night.

Keiyunna Maddox had her fingerprints all over the game and led the team in scoring with 21 points while chipping in with three steals and two assists. She had help in the form of Lacey Thomas, who once again had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds a night after she scored her 1,000th point the night prior.

Freshman Aubrey Chelcy had a double-double of her own with 11 points and 12 boards.

In total, 10 different Cavaliers scored as a deep Callaway team pounded Eagle’s Landing for all four quarters.

The game was long over before the final whistle blew as the Cavaliers put together a 19-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 39-14 lead at halftime.

Aniyah McFarland showed off her ability from behind the arc, hitting three 3-pointers en route to a 13-point game.

Callaway (11-1) is on a tear to start the season and have now rattled off six wins in a row. The Cavaliers are 6-0 in region play and are first place in Region 5-AA. Callaway will host no. 2 in the region Columbia (4-0) next Tuesday.
