For the second straight time this season, the Callaway Cavaliers have beaten McNair. Callaway was able to edge out the Mustangs 71-60 on Friday night for an important region victory.

The teams traded blows early with the Cavaliers able to put together a 19-17 lead at the end of the first quarter. Callaway once again outscored its opponent in the second quarter, but the lead was only 32-28 at the halftime break.

The Cavaliers used a third-quarter surge to take a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter and never looked back from there.

It was a balanced attack for Callaway as nine total players got in the scoring column. Treyonn Tucker and Landon Thomas led the way with 12 points apiece. D’Arcy Harris led the bench unit in scoring with 10 points. Senior point guard DeShun Coleman had an uncharacteristically quiet game with just nine points but scored seven of those in the fourth quarter to help close the game out.

After dropping two games in a row, the Cavaliers have no bounced back with two wins in a row to improve to 7-8 overall and 3-5 in region play. Callaway will travel to take on Lanett (AL) on Saturday.
