On Wednesday, The Goodwill Career Center in LaGrange will host a large multi-employer hiring event.

The job fair will have more than 300 jobs available for full-time and part-time positions.

Career Center Manager Robert Goehring said Wednesday’s hiring event is set to be the largest one they have had yet with at least 23 employers set to attend over a wide variety of fields.

For those unfamiliar with the career center or new to the job hunt, the Goodwill Career Center is a non-profit that helps those in need of a job with resumes and interviewing skills through training workshops. The career center is supported by the connected retail store.

Wednesday morning, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. nearly two dozen employers will be on hand at the LaGrange Career Center on Commerce Avenue in LaGrange looking to hire additional employees. A wide variety of employers have signed up to attend including Great Wolf Lodge Hyundai Transis, Hyundai Glovis, Milliken, HL Mando, Sewon, Adient, Abide, Poplar Creek, Home Helpers, the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, Callaway Gardens, Kemper Life, Waffle House, Cloud 9, and the Troup County School System, along with several staffing agencies and others.

Goehring suggested that those seeking employment come in decent clothing, with resumes in hand and questions for their potential employers.

For those just starting their job search or those looking for a better one, the Goodwill Career Center regularly has job postings for vacancies throughout the community — including management-level positions.

Goehring said the career center and job fairs have had success since the center was opened in 2022. He said they helped with over 600 job placements last year.

“We’ve had so far around 3000 people have come into the center, many of them for job fairs and others just for finding a job,” Goehring said.

Goehring said that one of the best things about the job fair and the number of employers in one place at one time is that prospective employees can ask questions and find a job that they desire rather than just a paycheck.

The hiring event will be held Wednesday, Jan, 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Goodwill Career Center at 319 Commerce Avenue in LaGrange.
