Maureen Camp passed away peacefully on Jan. 29th, 2024. 

She was born on July 11, 1928, to the late Henry Camp and Lola Mae McMichen Wix in Douglasville, Georgia.

 She had such a giving heart and was such a light to all who knew her. We pray that her light will be carried on for generations through family, friends, and anyone who knew her. 

Before her retirement, she was a long-time employee with the Food Giant. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Henry L. Camp, Lola Mae Wix, Russell H. Camp, Nella Jean Warren, Carolyne Joyce McLarty, Larry Garner, Jr.  

She is survived by Linda (Don) Carpenter, Larry (Janice) Garner, Glenn (Andrea) Garner, Craig (Stephanie) Garner, Brock (Kelly) Garner, Dan (Mackenzie) Garner, Drew (Melanie) Garner, Vince (Paula) Swanson, Dixie (Johnny) Phillips, John (Emily) Laura Mitchell; step-granddaughter, Sherry (John) Williams; 25 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; siblings; Geneva Cole and Gail Neeld. 

The family is truly grateful to the staff at NHC for the exceptional love and care they gave her. Special friend – Audrey Pentacost.   The family will have a viewing on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 1 P.M. EST at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand, 506 Hill Street, LaGrange, Georgia. 

The funeral service will begin at 2 P.M. at the funeral home. 

Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery. 

Pallbearers serving in the service are Glenn Garner, Craig Garner, Brock Garner, Dan Garner, Drew Garner, John Carpenter, Vince Swanson, and Johnny Phillips.
