The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of The Dapper Den Haberdashery with a ribbon cutting on Thursday morning.

Owner Brandon Adams said he and Blaze Green created the shop because they saw a need for a men’s shop in LaGrange.

“We got tired of having to drive to Auburn and Newnan and all the other surrounding communities to meet this need,” Adams said.

Adams said they were driving down Lafayette Parkway and decided to open the men’s store.

“We had no idea what that was going to look like,” Adams said. “That was probably in August or September. Now here we are in February and this is what it looks like.”

Adams said they opened in mid-January without much fanfare. He said their first few customers were people thinking they were going into the Oink Joint next door and discovered the shop. He said word of mouth has since spread and they’re off to a good start.

Adams said starting January between winter and spring has been weird, so only about 60 percent of their inventory is out. He said to check out their social media to see when new styles arrive.

Patrons entering the shop will immediately notice the classic-style barber’s chairs flanking the front entrance. The plan is to eventually add barber services to make Dapper Den a one-stop shop for men. The barber services are expected to open in mid-March.

“There’s nowhere really in town for men to get a haircut and make an appointment unless you do so at a salon,” Adams previously said. “All of the barber shops in town are walk-in only, and I usually have to sit and wait in a chair for an hour to get a haircut because there are 12 people in front of me.”

Adams thanked DASH for being such great partners to work with along with the Hillside community and neighboring businesses.

“We really, really appreciate this opportunity. I think it’s going to be a great, great thing moving forward. It only makes sense to open a men’s shop next to a barbecue shop. We’re excited,” Adams said.

The Dapper Den Haberdashery is located at 710 Lincoln Street in LaGrange. The men’s shop is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
