Callaway girls soccer earned a bounce-back win on Thursday, defeating McDonough 9-0. It has been an action-packed week for the Cavaliers, who played their third game in as many days.

After missing Wednesday’s game, Aylin Ulloa led the charge for the offense. She scored a hat trick in impressive style. Mary Kate Baswell also had her fingerprints all over the game, registering two goals and two assists.

Freshman Sofia Flores continued to prove why she is a star on the rise, scoring two goals. Norma Trinidad and Lili Cook each scored their first goal of the season while Cook also registered an assist.

Isla Garcia and Jay Bussey had an assist apiece.

Katie Beth Bass and Alayna Leithleiter combined to earn a clean sheet in goal.

After two straight losses, the Cavaliers are now 2-2 on the season. Callaway’s next contest will be at home against Central Phenix City (AL) on Feb. 23.

After taking their first loss last time out, the Callaway boys soccer team bounced back in a big way on Thursday, defeating McDonough 4-0.

Journee Jordan broke the stalemate in the first half with a goal.

While there was only one goal in the first half, the floodgates opened in the second as Callaway began to run rampant. Jordan scored another goal in the second half while Sophomore Rickey Vaughn scored two goals.

Jayden Bailey, Jaylen Williams and Jordan all registered an assist in the game.

Braydon Morris made eight saves to keep a clean sheet for the Cavaliers.

Callaway will host Smiths Station next Wednesday.
