Circa cuts ribbon on unique coffee house and antique shop in LaGrange

Circa Antiques, Coffee House and Event Rentals celebrated its grand opening in LaGrange with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday.
Part antique store and part coffee shop, Circa offers a unique experience in LaGrange where guests can sit down with a coffee and delicious pastry or peruse vintage items for sale.
After opening a similar shop in Tyrone ten years ago, Kirk and Lisa Lytle opened a second location in LaGrange at the suggestion of their son, Maddux.
Lisa said Maddux lives here now after graduating from Point University, where he currently serves as the school’s head golf coach. She said he advocated for bringing their coffee to the community, so they had to bring the antique market along as well.
Circa has set up shop where the former LaGrange Equipment and Tool Rental was located near the corner of Morgan Street and Greenville Street.
Lisa said the prior owner wanted to sell the business before he sold the building so they decided to incorporate some of the previous business.
“We were like okay, we’ll incorporate the party rentals but not the excavators. We do the tents, the tables, the chairs, the dinnerware and party equipment like popcorn machines, candy machines, that kind of thing,” Lisa said.
Wednesday was the official grand opening for the coffee shop but they have been open since the end of November.
The business in the LaGrange shop has been steadily increasing to that of their Tyrone location, Kirk said. He said their biggest issue right now is figuring out parking. While the location is perfect for people stopping by to get their morning coffee heading into downtown, there isn’t a ton of parking for those antiquing or hanging out with their coffee.
Kirk said he expects people will figure out the best times to visit the location depending on whether they want to shop or just hang out for coffee.
The coffee shop offers an extensive variety of coffee drinks as well as pastries they made in their Tyrone kitchen. It’s all made fresh and brought down, Kirk said.
Right now our most savory thing is our quiches, he said noting they plan to add sandwiches as well.
