The Cavaliers are on fire. Callaway blasted Shaw 12-1 on Wednesday to win its sixth straight game of the season.

It did not take long for the Cavalier offense to put a stamp on the game as Wesley Williams hit a sacrifice fly to drive home a run in the top of the first. The Raiders struck back with a run to tie the game in the bottom of the inning, but the tie would be short-lived.

Callaway immediately retook the lead in the top of the second courtesy of Julian Dukes scoring on a passed ball.

The Cavaliers added to their lead in the top of the fourth inning as they took a 4-1 lead. An error allowed the first runner to score followed by Brody Swanson stealing home.

The game stayed at 4-1 until Callaway broke the game open in the sixth inning. Lashun Gates got the scoring started with a one-run single. Gates scored later in the inning on a passed ball to make it 6-1.

Luke Taylor scored on a passed ball followed by Blake Harrington getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Brantin Swanson scored the final run of the inning on a passed ball.

Williams drove in the 10th of the game for the Cavaliers in the top of the seventh on a ground out that brought Dukes home. Callaway added an 11th when Brantin was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. A Williams walk with the bases loaded made it 12-1.

Taylor, Brantin, Williams, Dukes, Brody, Gates and Bryce Hubbard all had a hit apiece.

Brantin got the start on the mound for the Cavaliers and pitched three innings in which he allowed four hits on five strikeouts. Slade Hunt pitched three quality innings in relief, allowing just two hits on three strikeouts, Hubbard pitched the final inning, slamming the door on any attempted rally by the Raiders.

Callaway has found its groove, winning six straight games after losing the first two games of the season. The Cavaliers (6-2) will look to make it seven in a row when they travel to take on region opponent Towers on Thursday.
