Diane Roberts Lovin passed away on Dec.  14, 2023.

Diane was born in Lanett, Alabama to Cecil Roberts and Helen Stiff Roberts and was raised in Fairfax, AL.

Diane earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.

She also earned a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee.

She worked at UT with the personnel department and the non-credit department.

She later moved to Fort Worth and worked for Texas Christian University.

Diane was involved in many professional organizations serving as president and other officer positions.

Diane was a lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in eight congregations in five different states.

She had served as a musician for worship service, a youth group sponsor, and as a Sunday school teacher.

She was a Deacon, participated on the board committees, chaired several committees, and served on the Christian Church Regional Board in Tennessee.

Diane participated in the Prayer Shawl Ministry at University Christian Church in Fort Worth as well as Farragut Presbyterian Church (where she had attended for several years).

Diane served on the board for The Nativity Pageant of Knoxville and on the founding committee of Leaves of Peace Symposium, Knoxville.

Diane was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, and an avid Auburn fan.

She loved to share the accomplishments of her granddaughter, an equine surgeon.

She loved to brag on her grandson’s ballgames, which she faithfully attended.

She is preceded in death by her parents Cecil Roberts and Helen Hollis and her brother David Roberts.

She is survived by her daughters Lisa Lovin McCurdy (John) and Leann Lovin Collier (Shawn), her grandchildren Kristen McCurdy and Colten Collier, several cousins, dear friends Deb Zihlman, Merilyn Goeltz, Jim Lee, and Nancy Pruitt, and her constant companion Sammy.

Her daughters wish to thank her dear friends Michael Beeler and Susan and Tom Dravecky for going above and beyond to help and being chosen family for years.

A service will be held on Friday, April 26 at 2 P.M. at Farragut Presbyterian Church (209 Jamestowne Blvd, Farragut 37934), Rev. Matthew Nieman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Diane’s name to Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM), Young-Williams Animal Center (Knoxville), Farragut Presbyterian Church, or University Christian Church in Fort Worth.
