The search for a missing kayaker has ended. Rescuers found Timothy Davis’ body on Sunday afternoon, according to the Harris County Coroner’s Office. Davis, and his young daughter, Xelora, were Lanett residents. 

Troup County 911 received a call on Saturday about a father and child who went on a kayak trip down Flat Shoals Creek and did not return. 

“Kayak started filling up with water and it flipped, and he and my grandbaby were on it,” said the missing kayaker’s mother, emotionally. 

The father, Timothy Davis, and his daughter Zalora, a toddler, were near where the creek intersects with Highway 103 when their kayak took on water and flipped, according to Timothy’s mother. 

Xelora was found near the Riverview Boat ramp Saturday night. She was life-flighted to a local hospital where she died.
