The Callaway boy and girls soccer teams had no problems on the road to Redan on Tuesday as both teams earned an important region victory.

GIRLS:

Callaway – 10

Redan – 0

The girls put on a dominant display and dispatched Redan with ease.

Senior Mary Kate Baswell bossed the show and finished with four goals.

Freshman Sofia Flores continues to prove her worth despite her youth, scoring two goals in the first half. Fellow freshman Norma Trinidad also scored a goal as did three other Cavaliers — Isla Garcia, Alice Potie and Aylin Ulloa.

Ulloa also registered an assist in the game as did Kadence Leithleiter, Jay Bussey and Trisha Patel.

The win moved Callaway to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in region play. The Cavaliers will be back in action at home against Eagle’s Landing on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

BOYS:

Callaway – 6

Redan – 1

The boys had to work a bit harder than their female counterparts to ensure a successful road trip on Tuesday.

Journee Jordan broke the game open with a goal in the 12th minute and then proceeded to set up Jayden Bailey for a goal in the 14th minute to double Callaway’s advantage.

Tuesday’s game belonged to Bailey, who was the star of the show, scoring two goals and contributing two assists.

In between Bailey’s two first-half goals, Jaylen Williams scored one of his own to make it 4-0 in the 25th minute.

Rickey Vaughn scored on the eve of halftime and Andre Molina got one on the other side of the break to round out the scoring for Callaway.

Jonah Miller contributed an assist while Brayden Morris made one save in goal to help preserve the lead.

Callaway is now 5-3 overall and 2-0 in region play. The Cavaliers will look to stay undefeated in region play on Friday against Eagle’s Landing at 7:30 p.m.
