LaGrange avenged its only region loss from a season ago by defeating rival Troup 4-1 at Callaway Stadium on Tuesday.

It was a cagey opening before LaGrange was awarded a penalty when Cade Hollstrom was fouled in the box with 18 minutes to go in the first half. Hollstrom placed the ball onto the penalty spot and then dispatched it in the back of the net to get LaGrange off and running.

Troup leveled the match late in the first half thanks to a goal from Luis Merida.

The second half was all LaGrange with Aidan Collins giving the Tigers fits. He scored just eight minutes into the half to give LaGrange its one-goal advantage back. He scored the final goal of the game as well, dispatching a pass from Hollstrom to make it 4-1. In between the two goals from Collins, Elvis Castillo scored on an assist from his elder brother Anthony Castillo to make it 3-1 with a shade under 25 minutes to go in the game.

LaGrange is now 8-6 overall and 5-1 in region play. The Grangers will play Whitewater on Thursday with a home playoff game on the line.

Troup fell to 6-5 overall and 4-3 in region play. The Tigers have clinched a road playoff game and will play a non-region matchup on April 9 against Northside.
