Veteran Service Center to open in LaGrange

Lagrange, GA- DSPII – Waypoint will launch its new full-service Veteran Service Center in LaGrange, GA, on April 27, 2024, offering comprehensive support to veterans and their families.

Having serviced thousands of veterans throughout the country; DSPII – Waypoint (an acronym for Discovering Soldiers Potential The Second Time Around); is proud to announce the grand opening of its new sanctuary center dedicated to serving the needs of veterans. The LaGrange Veteran Service Center, a hub of support and resources, will open its doors at 2573 Hamilton Rd., LaGrange, GA, at 10 AM on April 27, 2024. This expansion reflects DSPII – Waypoint’s commitment to providing holistic assistance to veterans, ranging from housing and employment resources to legal and financial counseling.

Named for Vietnam Veteran Richard W. English; English’s unceasing dedication to public service has been an inspiration to the Lagrange community, and the impact his actions have made over the course of more than 40 years of service will not be forgotten in Troup County.  The family members of the English family will be in attendance to honor him at this auspicious occasion.

The opening ceremony is set to be a poignant tribute to veterans and their sacrifices, opening with a posting of the colors by local ROTC Cadets. The event will also feature speeches by DSPII’s CEO and President, Sandra Brownlee, and government dignitaries, and will include a special honor for both the oldest and youngest soldiers from the local area. The day’s festivities will continue with a guided tour of the new facility, a community barbecue, and other family-friendly activities, highlighting the organization’s dedication to fostering a supportive veteran community. All members of the press, veteran political officers, and dignitaries from LaGrange, Griffin, and surrounding areas are cordially invited to attend.
