Mrs. Bessie Alice Walls, 74, of LaGrange, Georgia passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Walls was born March 8, 1950, in Aberdeen, MS, daughter of the late Thomas Preston Walling and Frankie Gaye Rushing Blalock Walling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia “Pat” Parke.

She was a member of LaGrange First Assembly of God.  Mrs. Walls received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Mississippi State University and received her Specialist Degree from Troy State University.

Mrs. Walls was a member of PAGE (Professional Association of Georgia Educators and a member of the National Business Education Association.

She received the Golden Apple Award for Troup County High School in 2002 and Teacher of the Year for Troup County High School 2004-2005.  She also served on the Adjunct Faculty at Southern Union State University and at West Georgia Technical College.

Mrs. Walls is survived by her husband, Richard Eugene Walls; daughters, Misti Knight (Terry) and Candi Gibson (Brian); grandchildren, Ashlyn Gibson and Kaylin Gibson; sister, Tommie Thaxton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, Georgia.

The Celebration of Life service will be at 11 A.M. in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA with Rev. Aaron McCollough officiating.

Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to LaGrange First Assembly of God, LaGrange, GA.
