In two weeks, a trio of forums will be held for residents to learn more about the candidates for the May 21 local elections.

The LaGrange Daily News and the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce are again partnering to bring three political forums covering each of the local races within LaGrange and Troup County.

From April 23 to April 25, residents can hear from candidates in three separate forums at the chamber of commerce, with all three forums starting at 6 p.m. Limited seating is available at the chamber but all three forums will be live-streamed on the LaGrange Daily News Facebook page.

The Tuesday, April 23 forum will feature candidates from the Troup County Coroner, Troup County Sheriff and Troup County Commissioner District 2,3, and 4 races.

The Wednesday, April 24 forum will feature candidates from the Troup County Board of Education District 2,3,5 and 6 races.

The Thursday, April 25 forum will feature candidates from the LaGrange Mayor, LaGrange City Council District 1B and the Troup County Clerk of Court races.

A total of 31 candidates qualified for the May 21 election with four running unopposed.
