A Troup County School System bus crashed in a ditch along New Hutchinson Mill Road on Tuesday morning. According to Kevin Wegienka, TCSS Transportation Director, the bus driver made her last stop at Long Cane Middle School. As she headed toward Whitesville Rd via New Hutchinson Mill Rd., she said something black jumped out in front of the bus. As she swerved to avoid it, the bus ended up in the ditch. No children were on the bus at the time of the wreck, and the driver was treated and released by EMS on the scene.
