Several Downtown LaGrange Streets to Close for LaGrange Cycling Classic

Several downtown LaGrange streets will be closed to traffic on Saturday, May 4 for the LaGrange Cycling Classic.

Starting Saturday at 7 a.m., several streets in Downtown LaGrange will be closed to traffic for the LaGrange Cycling Classic hosted by the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority.

The race features hundreds of professional and amateur bicyclists in this cycling event a closed-loop, multi-lap circuit around the streets of Downtown LaGrange.

The following road closures will begin Saturday, May 4 at 7 a.m.:

4 Broome Street from Bull Street to Main Street

4Main Street from Byron Hurst Street/East Depot Street to South Lafayette Square (Vernon Street)

4Bull Street from South Lafayette Square (Vernon Street) to Byron Hurst Street

4Byron Hurst Street from Bull Street to Main Street

Two of the four lanes on Vernon Street will be closed for the race, but the other two lanes will remain open to traffic.

Businesses and downtown sidewalks will remain open for the flow of pedestrians and spectators for the duration of the event. The streets will open back up to traffic and parking at around 10 p.m. Saturday, May 4.

The event is free and open to the public.
