The Troup Tigers season heartbreakingly ended this week, falling in game three in the state quarterfinals, but the future has rarely been brighter for the Tigers. The baseball team is full of high-quality young ball players and it showed all season. Now, the team has had three players named to the All-Region teams as well as three more honorable mentions.

That is just the players as head coach Tanner Glisson was also named the Region 4-4A co-coach of the year for helping guide the Tigers to the Elite Eight after missing the playoffs a season ago.

Troup had two players named to the first team, sophomore outfielder Garrison Edwards and junior pitcher Demetrius Hardnett. Edwards enjoyed a true breakout season in right field, becoming a bonafide starter for the first time this season. Hardnett had his breakout season last year as a sophomore and elevated his game this season as the team’s no. 1 pitcher.

The Tigers had just one player named the second team. Freshman Davis Moncus is a phenom and whether it was in the outfield or on the mound, he always found a way to impact games for the better.

Junior shortstop Fisher Baltzell, sophomore third baseman Carson Walker and sophomore pitcher Jake Perry were all named to the honorable mention list.

The Tigers will not be losing a single one of their All-Region performers as the team will graduate just one senior this fall, pitcher Tripp Cummings.
