Five Troup High students involved in car crash

At approximately 12:39 pm today, five Troup High students were in a car heading east on Whitfield Road toward Hogansville Road. The car pulled out, crossing across Hogansville Road into the path of a Troup County School System maintenance truck heading north on Hogansville Road. The truck, a Dodge Ram 3500, struck the car in the passenger side rear quarter panel. The car ended up in the grass on the opposite corner.
Two of the passengers in the car were ejected and injured. They were airlifted to a hospital in Atlanta. The conditions of the remaining drivers and passengers are unknown.
The Georgia State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
