Mary Joy Moosman of West Point, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 20 after a car accident. Mary Joy was born on June 19, 2006 in Lagrange, GA to loving parents, John McKenzie Moosman and Amber Naomi Robinson Moosman. Mary Joy attended West Point Elementary, Long Cane Middle, and Troup High School where she was always deemed as “teacher’s pet”. She was set to graduate this Friday with distinguished honors as part of The Class of 2024 from Troup High School. Mary Joy was accepted and had plans to attend The University of Georgia in the Fall. She was employed at Soloman’s in LaGrange and Johnny’s Pizza in West Point.

Mary Joy is survived by many loving family members; Siblings: Taylor, John Triston, Hailey, and Liam; Grandparents: Jason and Angie Robinson of West Point, Diane Moosman Payne of Opelika. Great Grandparent: Helen Dykes. Many aunts and uncles: Patrick & Jessica Key, Will & Laura Robinson, Anthony & Lindsey Robinson all of LaGrange, GA, Richard & Shelee McCorkle of Buena Vista, GA, Britt & Helena Bonner of Hamilton, GA, Blake & Gabrielle Duffie of Jacksonville, FL, Kimberly Moosman Balbach and Chyanne Moosman Quinto both of Cincinnati, OH, and Jaime Moosman of Denver, CO. She was also loved by many cousins who adored her and looked up to her.

Mary Joy was an obedient disciple of Jesus Christ. She attended Holy Family Catholic in Lanett, Alabama. Mary Joy loved being with her family and friends, and especially loved spending time at her family farm in Lafayette, Alabama. She told her grandparents, “This is my favorite place on Earth.”

She spent her entire life living for a greater purpose and is reaping the benefits of her faithfulness now. Mary Joy was truly the light and anchor of the Robinson/Moosman family. She loved deeply, gave freely of her time and talents, and was the greatest role model for her siblings, cousins, and friends. She was adored by all who met her and had a positive impact on everyone around her.

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lagrange, Georgia on Thursday, May 23 at 1:00 followed by graveside services at The Robinson Farm in Lafayette, Alabama.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday at the family home from 2:00-7:00 pm, 609 Avenue C, West Point, Georgia.

The legacy Mary Joy leaves behind is unbelievable and her family wants all of you to strive to be more like Mary Joy in everything that you do.
