The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of The Firm Foundation with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday afternoon.

The Firm Foundation is a pediatric speech clinic in Downtown LaGrange at 104 Church Street.

Owner and speech therapist Morgan Lynn says the clinic takes referrals from birth to 13 years of age but most of their patients are two to six.

“Most of them are about that preschool age before they get into the school system,” Lynn said.

Lynn has been doing speech therapy for about four years, having previously worked at Building Blocks. A love of kids and her father’s issues with speech inspired her to get into speech therapy.

“I wanted to do something with kids. Then my dad actually had a stroke in 2013, so I saw him get speech therapy, and I just loved how it like, gave him back his life,” Lynn said.

“With kids, it’s like they’re starting their life so I’m able to just kind of give them a boost to get them started,” she said.

Right now it’s just Lynn offering speech therapy services at the office but she said she is looking to add others and potentially other types of therapy.

“Speech therapists and even occupational, physical therapists, like any of the rehabilitative or habilitative outpatient therapies. We’re definitely looking forward because there’s a lot of kids in the community that need it,” she said.
