FRANKLIN – The LaGrange Lady Grangers stepped out of region play and got a 5-2 win over a strong Heard County team on Tuesday.

Smith pitched the seven-inning complete game, and she gave up just one earned run on two hits while striking out four.

LaGrange led 2-1 after the first inning, and it added three more runs in the fifth inning before Heard County capped the scoring with a run in the bottom of the seventh.

Hannah Karcher had two of LaGrange’s seven hits with a double, and she drove in two runs.

Katelynn Mobley added a hit and an RBI, and Destiny Fitzpatrick had two hits and a walk.

Shaq Sutton and Abby Vanhoose each had a hit, and Malone Aldridge scored a run.

LaGrange will play its third road game in three days today when it visits Callaway, with first pitch set for 5:30 p.m.
