The artists of West Point Fine Arts will host a local high school art competition on Nov. 1 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the upstairs location of Joe’s Tex Mex restaurant in West Point. 

All students between the ages of 14 and 18-years-old within the Chambers, Lee, Harris, Troup and Randolph counties are invited to participate. 

Though WPFA will try to get all works in the exhibit there will be limited space. Works may be subject to jurying.

Exhibit themes will include the Day of the Dead, Mexican and Southwestern arts.

There is a size limit for two dimensional  pieces. WPFA will mount pieces in   11”  by 14” mats with a 8” by 10.5” opening (paper should be no smaller than 8.5” x 11”). There is no need to frame works. 

The three dimensional size limit is 6” x 6” x 12.”

Works will be judged on originality, technique, neatness, composition, impact and creativity. Works done on lined paper or that have been duplicated or copied will not be accepted. All works must have label information emailed prior to delivery. 

Label information will include artist’s name, title, medium and name of school or organization.

All works must be delivered to the upstairs of Joe’s Tex Mex restaurant Saturday, Oct. 27 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and can be picked up after the show.
