Four individuals were arrested Wednesday for selling alcohol to minors.

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division recently conducted random alcohol sale compliance checks at 19 establishments, according to a press release from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office. During that operation, clerks from four different locations sold alcohol to an underage person and were arrested and charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor.

The four individuals were Ashley Elaine Gay, 30; Katherine Faye Young, 47; Donna Diane Trawick, 53; and Kirankumar Doshi, 69. All are from LaGrange.

Gay worked at Happy Stop, located at 2911 Hamilton Road; Young works at Hillcrest Food Mart, located at 3191 Robert Hayes Road; Trawick works at Ribitz, located at 5618 West Point Road; and Doshi works at Sunrise Inn and Suites located at 2506 Whitesville Road.

“We certainly take those cases serious because we don’t want anyone under age to be able to get ahold of [alcohol],” Smith said.

The charge of furnishing alcohol to a minor is a misdemeanor.
