Addams Family to take stage at New Horizon

A familiar set of characters will take the stage at New Horizon Theatre in May, but they’ll be telling a new, unique story.

The theatre will host the Addams Family Musical May 2, 3, and 4 at 8 p.m. at New Horizon Theatre, located at 411 W 8th St in West Point. There will also be a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

According to a press release from New Horizon, a typical day for the Addams Family turns awry when Wednesday tells her father that she’s fallen in love.

Wednesday’s love interest, Lucas Beineke (Ethan McKie), comes from a seemingly normal mid-western family, and he and his parents, Mal (Brian Green) and Alice (Abby Stodghill), are visiting the Addams so the families can get acquainted over dinner.

Wednesday’s younger brother, Pugsley has been largely ignored since Lucas arrived on the scene, and misses the attention (torture) Wednesday has routinely bestowed on him.  He steals a bottle from Grandma’s collection of potions to try to return Wednesday to her senses.  In the meantime, Uncle Fester confesses that he too is in love – with the moon.

Morticia (Cassie Ellerbee), Gomez (Chase Golden), Wednesday (Jessica Connelly), Pugsley (Annah Lee), Fester (Zeke Weldon), Grandma (Cora Connelly), and Lurch (Hunter Brawner) all contribute to the classic family as well.

Tickets are $16 for adults and $13 for seniors, students and military and are available online at www.nhct.org. Group Rates for 10 or more are available by calling the ticket office at (706) 518-6234.
