The Georgia Radio Museum and Hall of Fame will stream “A Small Town Christmas,” a radio special written and produced by 2007 GRMHoF Inductee and renowned Georgia radio professional, Don Kennedy.

According to a press release from the museum, the program features nearly two hours of traditional holiday music interwoven with the coming of age story of a boy in a small town. 

According to Kennedy, the story is semi-autobiographical. Kennedy grew up in Beaver, Pennsylvania.

After serving in the military during the Korean War, Kennedy moved to Atlanta where he was a news anchor at WSB Television. He also hosted “The Popeye Club” as Officer Don. 

From television, Kennedy became part owner of WKLS FM in Atlanta, then hosted “Big Band Jump, a syndicated radio program heard on over 100 radio stations. He wrote and produced “A Small Town Christmas” for that program. 

Don made the special available to the Georgia Radio Museum and Hall of Fame. 2019 will mark  the fifth consecutive year it has been featured during the Christmas holidays on the organization’s web site  Grhof.com.
