The Flint River Academy softball team was flying high after scoring four runs in the fourth inning to get within a run, but LaGrange Academy pitcher Amber Corley was in control the rest of the way.

Corley, a senior who has had a phenomenal prep career at LaGrange Academy, held Flint River scoreless over the final three innings to help her team beat Flint River 5-4 on Saturday afternoon.

LaGrange Academy (6-2) beat Flint River 8-2 earlier this season on its home field.

Corley, who was brilliant in last year’s championship series against Flint River, tossed the seven-inning complete game, and she held Flint River to seven hits and four runs while striking out 10.

Lackey led the way with three hits, including a solo home run, and she scored two runs.

Lehman also had a solo home run, and she had three RBIs.

Kelsey Cotton had a double, and Mackenzie Jones had one
