Woman, dog injured in shooting on Mc Gregor Street

A woman and a dog were injured by gunfire early Thursday morning, according to a LaGrange Police Department press release.

LPD officers responded to reports of a shooting at a Mc Gregor Street home around 6:50 a.m. According to the release, they found a woman inside who had been shot twice in the leg. Another, uninured person was in the room with the victim. A dog who had been shot was also found in the house.

The victim and other residents told police they were asleep in bed when multiple gunshots were fired into the residence, according to the release.

The victim was taken to a hospital in Columbus, Georgia, for treatment, the release said. The dog was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment.

The incident is being investigated by LPD’s Criminal Investigations Section.
