The honors keep rolling in for Troup High’s Taeo Todd.

Todd, who enjoyed a breakthrough debut season as Troup’s quarterback, was named to the Maxpreps Freshman All-American team that was released this week.

Twelve offensive players from across the country were first-team selections on the All-American team, and Todd was one of them.

Todd started all 11 games for the Tigers last season, and he ran for close to 1,500 yards with 11 touchdowns, and he also threw for more than 700 yards with five touchdowns.

Todd ran for at least 100 yards in eight of Troup’s 11 games, and he had nearly 300 rushing yards against Spencer.

Earlier this month, Todd was named the Atlanta Touchdown Club freshman of the year in Georgia, and he was also selected as the Region 2-AAAA offensive player of the year.

As electrifying as Todd was last season, Troup head coach Tanner Glisson said “there’s a lot of room to grow.”

“There’s some things he can do in the passing game that are going to surprise some people,” Glisson added. “We’re just tickled to death, and glad to have him for three more years.”
