Parents and students of the Troup County School System can now access grades, directories, attendance records or more from their smartphones. TCSS announced Friday that it had launched a mobile app and finished revamping its website.

“Providing timely information in a format that our community is familiar with helps us keep an

open line of communication, as well as stay on the cutting edge of technology,” TCSS spokesperson Yolanda Stephen said in a TCSS news release.

The app is available from the app store on any smartphone, per the release.

The app features a direct connection to Infinite Campus so parents and students can access information about attendance and grades. Also on the app is a staff directory, notification center, TCSS news releases, an event calendar and links to the district’s website and social media.

In addition to the app, TCSS has updated its website, troup.org, and each of the school websites.

The re-launch is supposed to improve usability, navigation, search capabilities, formatting and more.

According to Stephen, users can expect “experience similar service with updated information, simpler navigation, and an awesome new design that’s more visually appealing than the six-year-old model we retired. We believe these communication tools will make it easier for our parents, staff, students, and community members to have information at their fingertips.”

TCSS will continue to update the app and website over the next month to ensure compatibility, the release said.

Creating the app and updating the website took eight months, according to the release.

The app had a soft launch last month to obtain feedback from stakeholders before its release was publicized.
