Callaway sweeps Temple

TEMPLE – The Callaway Cavaliers improved to 5-0 in Region 5-AA with a 65-49 road win over Temple on Friday night.

Javontay Boddie had a solid all-around game for Callaway with 11 points, four assists and three steals, and Demetrius Coleman scored 10 points and had three rebounds and three steals.

Devin Dowell added 10 points with four rebounds and two assists, and Exavious Reed had seven points and two steals.

Callaway finished a regular-season sweep of Temple while remaining in first place in the region with three region games remaining.

In the girls’ game, Callaway moved to 4-1 in Region 5-AA with a 43-22 victory over Temple.

Gabrielle Johnson led Callaway with 16 points, Jazmine Thornton added 11 points, and Lacy Thomas scored eight points.

Callaway will visit Lanett on Saturday, with the girls’ game tipping off at 3:30 p.m.
