The Callaway Lady Cavaliers are hoping it’ll be a first-place showdown when they host Heard County on Friday.

In order to make that a reality, though, Callaway will have to take care of business against Haralson County on Wednesday.

The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but it was pushed back one day.

Also, the boys’ game between Callaway and Haralson County has been postponed, and no makeup date has been announced.

Callaway (8-6 overall) will bring a 4-1 Region 5-AA record into Wednesday’s game, while Haralson County (14-2 overall) is 2-1 in the region.

In the first meeting between those two teams, Callaway beat Haralson County 38-27.

If Callaway can finish off a regular-season sweep of Haralson County, it will play Heard County for first place on Friday.

Heard County (15-3 overall) improved to 4-0 in the region with Tuesday’s road win over Bremen.

Callaway finishes its region schedule with a home game against Bremen next Tuesday.

Callaway’s boys’ team is in first place in the region with a 5-0 record, while Heard County is in second place at 3-1.
