Hair for a Cause

LaGRANGE – When you see the stylish individuals roaming West Georgia Technical College’s campus this weekend, feel free to join them at this year’s Hair for a Cause, an event which raises funds for locals fighting terminal illnesses.

Hair for a Cause was founded in 2012 by Quita Harmon who wanted to help the community through prayer and a fashion show that highlights the work of local stylists, barbers, make-up artists and fashion designers. Now in its fifth year, the event has sponsored two people each year in the past, but this year the event is set to sponsor three individuals who organizers hope will be healed through the power of prayer, along with the funds raised by the event.

The event is set to kick off on Saturday at 8 p.m. with the HFC: All Black Affair Party featuring DJ Whiteboi, drink specials by Andrea FruitBar and photos by Visionz. Tickets to Saturday night’s event are expected to be limited and advanced purchases are recommended. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door and VIP tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door.

On Sunday at 3:30 p.m., the event center is scheduled to reopen for a social hour prior to the hair show that is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. The show will highlight the work of a team of stylists, barbers, fashion designers, make-up artists and models who aim to provide a one of a kind experience in honor of a great cause.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Callaway Event Center at West Georgia Technical College, 220 Fort Drive. To purchase a ticket contact LaQuita Harmon at 706-445-1615 or Venenka Cameron at 706-389-8913.
