LPD: Female allegedly points gun at woman

A woman claims another woman tried to shoot her in front of her child in the 1000 block of Polk Street Tuesday.

The victim told LaGrange Police the woman attempted to block in her car in the 200 block of Wright Street. The woman then got out of her car and pulled out a handgun, the report stated.

The victim drove away and returned to her home on Polk Street. The woman allegedly followed her, got out of her car and pointed the gun at the victim, according to the police report.

The victim said the woman attempted to fire the weapon, but left the safety on the gun, the report stated. The suspect then left the scene.

The victim’s 7-year-old child was in the car during both incidents. He told officers he saw the suspect point the gun at his mom, the report stated.

Police are investigating.

Used batteries stolen from Walmart

Two people told LaGrange police officers they witnessed three men steal used car batteries from a storage cage on the side of Walmart just before 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The witnesses said the men jumped out of a sports car and took an unknown amount of car batteries valued at $12 a piece, according to the report.

The suspect’s car was described as a dark sports car with shiny rims and a black scarf covering the license plate, the report stated.

This is the third time in a month someone has broken into the storage cage at Walmart and stolen used car batteries, LPD stated.

Police are investigating.

Shoplifting

LaGrange police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to return a tool kit he never bought at the Home Depot on Lafayette Parkway.

A store manager showed officers surveillance footage of the man walking into the store empty-handed, picking up a drill set, opening up the box and then walking to the returns desk. The customer reportedly handed the cashier a torn receipt and asked for a refund, according to the police report.

When the cashier did not refund the man his money, he allegedly left the store with the tools, the report stated.

The drill set was worth $300.
