Letter: In memory of a teenage girl

She held me ‘ere I knew to hold,
One innocent, one almost bold:
Eternal moment even then!
She kissed me once and not again.
Though far away in time and place,
One thought reveals her golden face
Shining through the worldly din;
(She kissed me once and not again).
She died today; so shall we all.
I do not see, but feel her pall.
Both boy and man remember when
She kissed me once and not again.
