Letter: What is the better option for Iran agreement?

As I see candidates glibly denigrate the Iran agreement, I wonder what the alternative is.
Secretary Kerry after two long years came up with an acceptable agreement. The United States had imposed sanctions on Iran. The sanctions did hurt. But when Britain, France, Germany, even Russia and China joined us, a stranglehold was placed on Iran’s economy. There has been a very strong popular demand in Iran to end those sanctions.
While not perfect, this agreement paves the way for a reasonable path away from war in the Middle East.
Abandoning the accord, while it may make great debate headlines, is not the wisest course. Would that empower the hardliners? How long can we hold this coalition to its participation in sanctions? Could we reassemble this powerful group if the agreement is rejected?
