A thief took copper pipes from facilities on the West Georgia Health property at 1514 Vernon Road but apparently replaced them with aluminum ones.

According to a report, LaGrange officers were called to check out the theft about 10 a.m. Wednesday, where a person told the officer between 50 and 60 copper drain pipes were taken from three different buildings. The pipes had been replaced with aluminum piping.

The total value of the copper pipes was estimated at more than $1,000.

Police were investigating.

Burglaries

• Someone broke into Lemon Tree Shoppes at 204 Morgan St. and stole 12-15 lamps, an antique brass cash register, a small table, a desk and chair set, some dishes and possibly some silver plates between Sept. 10 and Monday. The owner estimated the total value around $1,000. The burglar appeared to have entered through a broken window in the back of the building, the responding officer reported. Police were investigating.

• A woman claimed someone broke into her home in the 700 block on Chattahoochee Street between 7 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. Wednesday and stole a 37-inch TV, HP laptop and jewelry from her bedroom. She told police she believed the burglar broke into the house through a window. The stolen items were estimated at $550.

• Another woman told LPD officers that someone stole a 58-inch Sanyo flat-screen TV from the master bedroom of her home in the 300 block of Greenville Street between Sept. 9 and Wednesday.

Something fishy

One woman was apparently fed up with alleged juvenile antics in her neighborhood after she found dead fish in her yard in the 1200 block of Troup Street about 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The woman told LaGrange officers she has had problem with kids throwing objects in her yard before.

She did not see who actually threw the fish into her yard, she told police, but wanted to document the incident.
