A woman who accidentally left her debit card at an ATM in the 100 block of Calumet Center Drive on Tuesday afternoon almost lost $1,500 from an account.

The cardholder called LaGrange police after the bank informed her someone made a purchase for $1,500 at a Walmart in Lithonia.

Fortunately, the bank shut down the card and refunded her money, she said.

Police said they are still investigating and whomever is responsible could be charged with theft and fraud.

Stolen copper

A repairman called police Tuesday after discovering the air-conditioning unit he was called to work on at a home in the 100 block of Bell Street was stripped of all its copper pipes.

The man told officers when he arrived, the screws on the unit had been removed and the wiring was gone.

He also said he checked the equipment on Saturday and did not see any problems.

The repairman estimated the damages at $600 or more.

Stolen bicycle

A man told officers on Tuesday someone stole his bicycle and black tool bag within a matter of 20 minutes from the front yard of a residence in the 1000 block of Greenville Street.

The victim said he stopped at the home about 7:30 p.m. and when he came back outside at 7:50 p.m. his red, white and black Role Master bicycle was gone.

The man told police the bike had three mirrors on the handle bars, plus a black tool bag, containing several tools, hanging on the bicycle.

According to the victim, the bike and tools were worth a total $200.

Entering auto

A man reported someone entered his Ford Ranger truck Monday while it was parked at LaGrange Mall.

The man told officers he went inside the mall about 7 p.m. and left his wallet in the vehicle with the doors unlocked.

According to the report, when the man returned, he found the wallet open and lying on the console of the truck.

He told police his Georgia conceal carry permit and two credit cards were taken from the wallet.
