Man assaulted then robbed

Investigators with the LaGrange Police Department are looking for two men who reportedly beat up another male Thursday night then robbed him.

The victim told detectives the incident happened just before 7 p.m. as he was walking in the 400 block of Harwell Avenue.

He said two unknown black males approached him, physically assaulted him, took his wallet and then fled on foot.

Investigators said the victim then walked to the Smile Mart convenience store on Ashton Street and called police.

Burglaries

• A man just returning home from work about 8 p.m. Thursday called police after he claimed someone broke into his home in the 1200 block of Troup Street. The entire house had been rummaged through and the suspect turned over a bed, opened dresser drawers and the kitchen cabinets, he told police, and the only thing missing was a 12-gauge shotgun valued at $600.

• A woman called LaGrange police about 3 p.m. Wednesday after she returned home in the 600 block of Elm Street and found her front door wide open. The victim told police the burglar stole a 50-inch Sanyo TV and a Wii gaming console.

• Another homeowner in the 200 block of Crovat Street told police he left his residence for 10 minutes and returned about 3:30 p.m. to find his front door open. He told police furniture inside the home had been turned around and the only thing missing was a baked chicken.
