Investigators with the LaGrange Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit got more than they bargained for when they executed a search warrant on a home in the 100 block of Locust Street Wednesday morning at 6 a.m.

According to LPD, investigators made contact with Latron Robertson, whose age and address were unavailable, inside the residence. They said he was in possession of 28 grams of marijuana, two bags of MDMA or “Molly” and two digital scales.

Police said Robertson was arrested at the scene and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, MDMA, schedule IV drugs and possession of drug-related objects.

Robertson was taken to the Troup County Jail.

LaGrange police said the search warrant was part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Burglary

A woman called LaGrange police about 1 a.m. Friday after returning to her apartment in the 1000 block of Whitesville Street and noticing someone stole her two cellphones.

She told police they were valued at $59 apiece.

The woman also said her apartment smelled like marijuana and there were two empty beer bottles inside her living room trashcan.

She told officers she had not been drinking or have any beer inside her refrigerator.

The victim stated she did not lock her door when she left.

Police are investigating.
