A resident of Lee’s Crossing Apartments, 119 Old Airport Road, returned home from a weeklong business trip about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday to find a bullet had traveled through his apartment.
The man told LaGrange police he discovered a hole in the wall of his living room and thought the damage was from his child, until he found more holes that aligned with the first one. They appeared to be from a bullet.
Officers spoke with a woman who also lives in the apartment. She told police she found a bullet inside the apartment on the floor near the front door a week ago.
She thought the bullet must have accidentally been brought in through the front door, according to the police report. She also thought the hole in the wall was just damage from children and had not noticed the holes in the other rooms.
Police believe the bullet was fired at the apartment from the direction of Old Airport Road.
Police are investigating.
