LaGrange police investigators were searching for a masked gunman this morning who allegedly robbed the Citgo gas station at 103 Commerce Ave. about 12:55 a.m. today.

The store clerk told officers an unknown male wearing a mask entered the store and pointed what he believed to be a gun at him. The suspect then demanded money from the clerk.

The gunman fled the store with an unknown amount of currency, said the clerk.

The incident was captured on the store’s surveillance cameras.

The employee described the suspect as a young black male, wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, gloves, about 5-foot-10 with a medium build.

Anyone with information about this incident was asked to contact the LaGrange Police Department at 706- 883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.

Man points gun at pedestrians

Two pedestrians called LaGrange police Sunday about 11:48 p.m. after they said someone pointed a gun at them from a car as it drove by on Washington Street.

The two men told officers a man in the front passenger seat leaned out of the window and asked them, “Are you the ones who shot up the block?”

The men claimed the person then pointed a black pistol at them before driving away toward Forrest Avenue.

The two men described the car as a tan or gold newer model Mercury Grand Marquis. They also said four or six men were inside the vehicle.

Police canvassed the area, but did not find a car matching that description.

Business burglarized

The owner of Absolute Solutions at 1113 Mooty Bridge Road called LaGrange police about 6:10 p.m. Sunday after she discovered a burglar broke into the business and took $100 out of a money box inside a cabinet, she told police.
