Money stolen from Walmart

Managers at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 955 Lafayette Parkway called LaGrange police after seeing a man on surveillance video steal more than $900 from a cash register.

Officers responded to the store on Thursday to speak with Walmart officials. They told police the theft actually occurred on June 17 about 6 p.m.

The video showed three people, two men and a woman, walk into the store and enter the self-checkout aisle, the police report states. As they did, one of the men reached around another register and twisted an unknown item into the device. The register popped open and the man grabbed the stack of $20 bills, which totaled $940, said the manager.

The three then left in a silver Buick Century, states the police report.

Police were investigating.
