Homeowner foils burglary attempt

A homeowner reportedly walked in on a burglary in progress inside their own home in the 1200 block of Troup Street about 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
The suspect allegedly fired a weapon at the homeowner before taking off on foot, said LaGrange Police officials.
The homeowner was not hurt in the incident.
LaGrange Police officers canvassed the area using one of their K9 units to try and find the suspect.
No one had been detained as of press time on Tuesday evening.
Shootings
- Two people were shot while standing outside a home in the 900 block of Greenville Street about 10 a.m. on Monday.
The victims told investigators with the LaGrange Police Department at least two unknown suspects walked around the side of the house and fired a weapon several times. Four men were sitting on the front porch of the home at the time of the incident, the report stated.
One man was shot in the leg and taken to Columbus Medical Center. The other victim was hit in the foot and transported to EAMC – Lanier in Valley, Alabama, according to LPD investigators.
- One man told LaGrange Police officers someone shot at him while he was sitting inside his car in the 200 block of Newnan Street.
The victim told investigators he heard gunshots in close proximity to him and then realized his vehicle was hit by at least one bullet, the report stated.
The man was not hurt in the incident.
Witnesses stated they saw three unidentified males running from the scene heading towards Thornton Street, according to the police report.
