Multiple gunshots fired into home

Public Safety Reports

A mother, son and another woman took cover as bullets were fired into their home in the 100 block of Turner Street just after 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

One of the victims told LaGrange Police she was in her bedroom when she heard at least five gunshots outside, a report stated.

She and the other two victims inside the house immediately hit the floor, the report said.

At least one bullet shattered a sliding glass door. LPD officers also located several bullet holes near the front door of the home and a bathroom, according to the report. Bullets also pierced holes through a couch in the living room.

Police are investigating.

Man allegedly punched, then robbed

A man walking through the Amberwood Apartment complex at 815 North Greenwood Street was reportedly robbed by two men on bicycles just before 9 p.m. on Saturday.

The victim told LaGrange Police one of the men punched him in the stomach, while the other one grabbed his arms and held them behind his back, the report stated.

One of the suspects then reached into the victim’s pockets and stole more than $100 in cash, the police report said.

The two men then fled the area.

Woman robbed at gunpoint

A woman told investigators with the LaGrange Police Department she was robbed at gunpoint by someone she knew inside a room at the Super 8 Motel at 29 Patillo Road.

The incident happened around noon on Sunday.

The woman said she allowed the suspect, identified as Deondrea Lee, into her room, according to a news release.

Lee then held the victim at gunpoint and took an undisclosed amount of money from her before leaving the scene, the report said.

Investigators issued arrest warrants for Lee. He was charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault, according to LPD officials.

Lee is still on the run as of press time on Monday evening.

Thirteen-year-old boy burned

A 13- year-old boy was severely burned in the face and hands after being hit with a pillow that was on fire.

The accident happened about 3:30 p.m. on Sunday inside the Laurel Crossing apartment complex at 1401 Park Place.

A 15-year-old boy told LaGrange Police officers he and the victim ignited a pillow inside an empty apartment, a report stated.

The older boy picked up the pillow, but the flames became too hot so he tossed it and accidentally hit the victim in the face, according to the police report.

The material then stuck to the victim’s face and hands, officers stated.

The 13 year old was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. His condition is not known as of press time Monday.

The 15-year-old boy was released to his parents.

The incident was determined to be an accident by LaGrange police, the report stated. No action was taken against either youth.

Toddler found wandering alone

A good Samaritan called LaGrange Police after discovering a toddler clutching a stuffed animal and attempting to cross Mooty Bridge Road about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The four-year-old boy told police officers he was staying with his uncle and “had left,” the report said.

The toddler was able to show officers where his uncle lived inside the Cameron Crossing apartment complex at 1600 Meadow Terrace, according to the report.

The man allegedly told LPD officers they fell asleep and the toddler left without anyone noticing, the report stated.

Police cited the man for parental responsibility.
