Public Safety Reports

Two people remain behind bars in the Troup County Jail Friday morning for illegally possessing and selling methamphetamine inside their home in the 1300 of Juniper Street.

Members of the LaGrange Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit and the Patrol Division served a search warrant on the house Thursday afternoon after a three-week undercover investigation.

Pamela Smith, 38, was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of methamphetamine, one count of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and one count of possessing a drug related object, said Sgt. Mark Cavender, head of the Special Investigation Unit.

Smith allegedly sold meth twice to an undercover officer during SIU’s investigation, Cavender staid.

Frank Bolton, 35, was also arrested and charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine and one count of possessing a drug related object, LPD investigators said.

While inside the home, investigators discovered Bolton also had an outstanding bench warrant through the LaGrange Municipal Court.

The SIU team also found five grams of methamphetamine packaged for resale and $600 in cash inside the Juniper Street residence, Cavender added.
