Man arrested for being intoxicated in grocery store

One man’s trip to Kroger at 203 Commerce Avenue ended in handcuffs and a trip to the Troup County Jail.

The man was recently criminally trespassed from the grocery store, the report stated.

According to the manager, the man frequents the store and is always causing trouble, the report read.

LaGrange police officers noticed the man was intoxicated and yelling profanities outside the building when they arrived on scene.

The manager told police the man was also begging customers for money and rides, according to the report.

Officers arrested the man and charged him criminal trespass and public drunkenness.

Man starts suspicious fire

A homeowner in the 900 block of Kelley Street reported a man set a pile of leaves on fire – and then walked away.

The man allegedly ignited the leaves on the property across the street from her house. The homeowner extinguished the brush before she called 911.

The homeowner told LaGrange police the man frequents the area and allegedly stands in the woods and watches people as they walk by.

Police are investigating.
