The project manager for the new Marriott Hotel off LaFayette Square reported a welder was missing from the construction site.

The welder was allegedly secured over the weekend to an equipment lift that was raised above the construction site to prevent thefts, the report stated.

The equipment was valued at $1,800.

Theft by deception

A woman claimed a man she met through an online dating service defrauded her of $130,000.
