Shattered glass cuts woman while sleeping

A woman was hurt when a brick was thrown through her bedroom window while she was sleeping in at home.

The incident happened at the Tall Pines Apartment Complex at 150 Turner Street just before 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

The victim told LaGrange Police she heard the glass break and immediately felt pain in her right leg.

The woman reportedly had a cut across the top of her thigh, the report said.

Officers found a piece of brick lying next to the woman’s bed. Police believed someone threw it at the window and shattered the glass, according to the report.

No one was arrested and the woman reportedly declined medical treatment. Police are investigating.

 

Burglary

Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the person(s) responsible for burglarizing a home on Vernon Ferry Road.

The incident happened on Sunday.

The homeowner told investigators the thieves allegedly stole: a 9mm Ruger pistol, a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, $200 worth of one-dollar gold coins, a Traxx RC electric car with charger, a 2016 Honda TRX 500 four-wheeler, among other items.

Stolen dirt bikes

A woman told LaGrange Police someone stole two dirt bikes from behind a home in the 600 block of Glenn Robertson Street.

The bikes were inside a storage shed. The homeowner noticed the door to the building was damaged and discovered the vehicles were gone, a police report said.

One dirt bike was described as a 2007, red, Honda CRF 85; the other one was a 2005, red, Honda XR80, the victim told officers.

The total value of both bikes was estimated at $2,450.

 

Entering auto & theft

A woman reported someone stole items out of her 2002 GMC Yukon while the SUV was parked in the 100 block of Niles Street on Tuesday.

The victim told LaGrange Police she was missing a Vera Bradley purse, $1,000 in cash, a diamond ring, two cellphones among other items.

The total value of the stolen merchandise was estimated around $1,800.

The woman also reportedly told officers her SUV was left unlocked, according to the report.
